Grammy: Steven Spielberg wins award for Best Musical Film and becomes EGOT

Filmmaker Steven Spielberg, 79, won the award for Best Musical Film at the Grammy Awards this Sunday (1st) and achieved EGOT status. The 68th edition of the main world music awards took place in Los Angeles, in the United States.

The director was awarded for “Music By John Williams”, a documentary about the life and work of the American composer and conductor. He was credited as one of the film’s producers.

He joined the select list of artists who have won the four main entertainment awards: Emmy (television), Grammy (music), Oscar (cinema) e Tony (theater). In addition to the recently won Grammy, Spielberg has 13 Emmy awards, three Oscars and a Tony.

Spielberg joins names like Barbra Streisand, Rita Moreno, Liza Minnelli, Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, Quincy Jones and John Legend. Recently, Elton John also achieved the feat.
