The former president (PL) testified for the on Monday (2) in an investigation into posts and speeches that associated the president (PT) with drug trafficking and made derogatory references to the PT member. The information was revealed by G1 and confirmed by UOL.
The former president gave a statement at the unit known as Papudinha, in Brasília, where he is serving a 27-year prison sentence. He was heard as being investigated in the investigation opened at the request of the government to determine whether Bolsonaro’s statements constitute crimes against Lula’s honor.
The investigation began based on publications by the former president. One of the episodes under investigation is the suspicion that Bolsonaro committed slander by associating Lula with drug trafficking in the Alemão complex, in Rio, in a video broadcast in March last year.
Posts on X (formerly Twitter) are also on the PF radar. The former president used terms considered offensive in publications on his official profile. In one of them, he calls Lula “cachaça”.
The former president’s lawyers deny crime. The defense has claimed that the comments were made in the context of political criticism.
Bolsonaro From last August until November, he remained under house arrest, in a condominium in Brasília. On November 22nd, he was arrested and taken to the PF Superintendency. Since January 15th, he has been at Papudinha.
