The US Department of Justice announced Friday (Jan. 30) that it is releasing more than three million new pages of files related to the Epstein sex offender case. Several prominent public figures have appeared in the files published so far, including current US President Donald Trump, ex-president Bill Clinton, billionaire Elon Musk or Slovak diplomat and former minister Miroslav Lajčák (62).
The Slovaks learned about their communication already last year in November. at the time she reported that it was clear from the declassified e-mails that they were supposed to exchange news even at a time when Slovakia was going through a turbulent period after the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancee (year 2018). According to the header, they should have been sent from the official ministerial email.
Lajčák defended himself by saying that in the past he only communicated with Epstein socially as part of his diplomatic duties. At the same time, he strongly condemned his actions, which – as he pointed out – came to light in their entirety only after the financier’s arrest. Before Christmas, they published another 68 new photos from Epstein’s archive, and one of them shows the financier photographed with Lajčák in the residence of the Slovak ambassador in Vienna.
He also found in them in which Epstein was to procure tickets to a Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas for Lajčák, his wife and daughter. In addition, the Slovak diplomat also sent Epstein the entire program of his family vacation in the USA. Of the following it should also appear that the ex-minister is with Steve Bannon (a former Trump adviser who is known for his ultra-right views, editor’s note) as he called, he also met him regularly at Epstein’s house.
Fico accepted Lajčák’s resignation
Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) accepted the resignation of his advisor on the last day of January Miroslava Lajčák, who decided to resign because of his communication with the American sexual predator Epstein. He informed about it on the social network. According to him, Lajčák showed himself as a great diplomat by resigning his position.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen so much hypocrisy in his criticism, from all sides. Well, if nothing else is serious, anything has to be used to attack me, even if it is absolutely rejected by Miro Lajčák,” the prime minister pointed out. According to Fico, Slovakia is losing a source of experience in diplomacy and foreign policy with Lajčák’s resignation. Lajčák’s departure from the position of adviser to the prime minister was demanded by opposition representatives as well as the coalition SNS because of his communication with Epstein.
Lajčákovo the name also appears in new documents, which mention young girls and the possibility of Fico’s communication with the ultra-right American politician Bannon. The American financier Epstein committed suicide in 2019 in a prison in New York. According to the investigation, he built an illegal network in which he provided underage girls to wealthy people.
