The president () said this Thursday (5) that the vice-president, (), and the Minister of Finance, (PT), have a role to play in the São Paulo elections.
Neither of them shows a desire to run for office in the state. Lula, however, needs strong allies running for government and for seats in São Paulo to boost his own re-election campaign.
“We are capable of winning the elections in São Paulo. I haven’t talked to Haddad yet, I haven’t talked to Alckmin yet, but they know they have a role to play in São Paulo. They know”, declared the President of the Republic in an interview with the Uol portal.
Lula said that the Minister of Planning, (), will also have a role in the election and that he has not yet spoken to her. PT members want to launch her as a candidate for some position in São Paulo.
The President of the Republic also mentioned the senator (-MG), who resists a candidacy for the Minas Gerais government. Lula wants him to compete for the position within his alliance.
“I haven’t given up on you yet, see Pacheco? You know we’re going to have a conversation and I think you could be the future governor of Minas Gerais”, declared the PT member.
