Two years of unconditional imprisonment for threatening to take hostages on the ÖBB-Railjet

Vienna/Salzburg – A 31-year-old man who threatened to take two female travelers hostage in an ÖBB rail jet at the beginning of November and caused the two Vorarlberg women to fear and unrest was sentenced to two years’ unconditional imprisonment at the Vienna regional court on Friday for a number of offenses. The Latvian agreed to this, as did the public prosecutor. The judgment is therefore legally binding.
