The singer Ivete Sangalo53, will participate in São Paulo’s street carnival for the first time. The artist commands the block “Who Asks, Asks”this Saturday (7), during the pre-festival, in a free parade that promises to bring together a large audience on the Ibirapuera Park circuit, in the south zone.
The gathering is scheduled to take place from 8am, with the parade starting throughout the morning. The event is part of the official program organized by SPTuris, responsible for the capital’s street events.
Where will the parade take place?
The tour will cover the Ibirapuera circuit, on Avenida Pedro Álvares Cabral, in the section between the Obelisk and the Monument to the Bandeiras. The route is one of the most traditional of the festival and usually welcomes the city’s megablocks.
Public access
Access to the block will be made exclusively through the official gates of Circuito de Trios, located at the ends of the route. All revelers will undergo mandatory searches, under the coordination of the Military Police.
The City Council reinforces that It will not be possible to access the blocks from inside the parksince the internal displacement does not lead to the circuit.
Operation of Ibirapuera Park
During Carnival days, some park gates will be closed. On the 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 21st and 22nd of February, gates 1, 2, 8, 9, 9A and 10, located on Pedro Álvares Cabral and República do Libano avenues, will not be open.
Already Gates 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 will remain open normally. At Gate 3, there will be a reversible lane on the Marcondes Salgado viaduct to facilitate vehicle access.
Parking
The parking lot at Gate 3 will be open, with access via the reversible lane of the Marcondes Salgado viaduct. Parking at Gate 7 will also operate normally during the event.
Public transport and recommendations
Several bus lines that pass through Avenida Paulista, Ibirapuera, Faria Lima and Centro will have temporary changes. SPTrans will have teams on the streets to guide passengers and recommends prior consultation of itineraries.
Pre-carnival takes place on the 7th and 8th of February. The official carnival will be held on February 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th, with post-carnival on the 21st and 22nd.
