António José Seguro’s homeland was celebrating on Sunday night, proud of winning the Presidency. In Penamacor, the candidate had a significant victory. Seguro obtained almost 82% of the votes. There were 300 more than in the first round.
As soon as the first surveys appeared, in Penamacor they were already toasting the elected with a record number of votes.
“We elected an extraordinary President of the Republic, who will represent and defend all Portuguese people equally”, says a popular person. “Portugal showed that it won dialogue, decency and moderation”, says another.

Liliana, Diogo and Vítor, the trio that animates popular events, prepared a song for the occasion. “A land that is of value, long live Tozé Seguro, long live Portugal and Penamacor”, they sing in the café.

António José Seguro won with a large majority at home, in one of the oldest municipalities in the country, which now hopes to gain a more secure future.
