The president of , (-PB), announced this Monday (9) that he forwarded the PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution) that ends the 6×1 working day (6 days of work and one day of rest) to the CCJ (Commission for Constitution, Justice and Citizenship).
Motta informed that, after passing through the CCJ, which analyzes the constitutionality of the proposals, a special committee will be created in the House to debate the text. The deputy stated that “all sectors” will be heard “with balance and responsibility to deliver the best law for Brazilians”.
“The world has advanced, especially in the technological area, and Brazil cannot be left behind”, wrote Motta in a publication on X (formerly Twitter).
The text that foresees the end of the 6×1 that will be analyzed by the deputies is the PEC presented by (PSOL-SP), which was added to the proposal by Reginaldo Lopes (PT-MG).
Lopes’ PEC, like Erika’s, changes article 7 of the Constitution, creating a maximum working day of 36 hours per week, which can be distributed throughout the week as the employer sees fit. Per day, the work limit is eight hours.
Workers will be able to have a 5×2 working day, according to Lopes’ PEC, in sectors such as banks, for example, working seven hours a day. In Erika’s, however, they are.

“I have no doubt that the 6×1 scale, by being discussed and reducing this working day, will take a firm step towards worker dignity, promoting better quality of life and respect for these people who move our country forward”, he stated.
The end of the 6×1 scale is one of the priorities for the government of President Luiz Inácio da Silva (PT). The topic should be explored by management, aiming for the re-election of the PT member in October. Planalto believes that the proposal has strong popular appeal.
