The meetings aim to expand federative coordination, deepen the diagnosis of the causes of gender inequality and encourage the implementation of public policies to prevent and protect women.
This year alone, more than 630 women were victims of feminicide in Brazil, according to data from Public Security. In April and May, compared to the same period last year.
The government says that the result coincides with the implementation of the Brazil Pact Against Feminicide, launched in February. The expectation is that mobilization in the states will further accelerate the reduction in rates.
