The chief minister of the Institutional Relations Secretariat, Gleisi Hoffmann, defended the speed of concluding the debate on the reduction of working hours, this Tuesday, 10th. The statements took place during a solemn session in the Chamber of Deputies in honor of the 46th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party.
“It is no longer possible for us to have a 6×1 scale for work in Brazil. This mainly affects women with double shifts. Therefore, it is necessary, with speed and determination, to hold this debate in this House and to do so in society”, declared the minister.
On the occasion, Gleisi also said that the hallmark of this administration by the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), is the expansion of exemption from Income Tax and that, after the income agenda, it is now necessary to defend the agenda of improving the quality of life of workers.
Opportunity with security!
“It’s time for us to roll up our sleeves and defend these flags”, declared the minister.
Earlier, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), said, in a virtual participation in an event in São Paulo, that the vote on the PEC to reduce working hours could take place in May this year.
On Monday, the 9th, Motta forwarded the PEC of congresswoman Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP) to the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ). The project must then be analyzed by a special committee and then go to the plenary.
