Federal deputy stated the solution for it to start producing results is to put the governor of DF in the chair
Federal deputy Alberto Fraga (PL-DF) publicly defended the arrest of the governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha, amid investigations into the acquisition of Banco Master assets by BRB.
In a speech, Fraga stated that “there is only one solution for it to start producing results. It is to put the governor of the Federal District in jail.” The parliamentarian said that Ibaneis would have authorized the purchase of “12.2 billion in rotten bonds, proven” and stated that the case must affect “many big people”.
Fraga also insinuated that the secrecy imposed on investigations by the Federal Supreme Court could be related to the “level” of the people involved. According to him, the governor was being used as a “piranha bull”, although he has “more than proven involvement”.
The deputy also cited the recent departure of a BRB director, who reportedly resigned after the scandal came to light, and demanded action from the Federal Police and the press. “Prison for Ibaneis”, he concluded.
