The Regional Executive of Progressistas () in Acre released a note of repudiation against the mayor of , , announcing the opening of an internal disciplinary process to investigate his party conduct. The document states that the manager has adopted positions considered incompatible with the caption’s guidance.
According to the note, Gerlen had carried out “reiterated movements to support and promote opposing political groups”, which, according to the party, represents a clear disagreement with the political line of the party. The text also highlights that the mayor would be giving visibility to leaders who declared themselves “enemies of the government”.

The state executive maintains that the attitude is seen as a gesture of disloyalty to the political group that, according to the statement, welcomed and supported Gerlen, including in the electoral process that resulted in his victory in 2024. The party emphasizes that politics is made of choices, but argues that these decisions must be aligned with principles such as ethics, gratitude and respect for the party base.
In the document, the PP informs that it will open an internal procedure to investigate the facts and evaluate possible appropriate measures. The party also states that it will not accept “treasonous and disrespectful movements”, signaling the possibility of sanctions according to the party statute.
According to the executive, the mayor will be summoned to provide clarifications. After the process is completed, the party promises to officially communicate the decision adopted to society, which could directly impact the political scenario in Sena Madureira and the articulations for the next elections.
To date, Gerlen Diniz has not publicly commented on the note released by the state leadership of Progressistas.
