The President of the United States, Donald Trump, once again declared explicit support for the re-election of the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, in a publication this Friday in Truth Social. The message is, in practice, the same as the one he released on February 5, fully repeating the content of the endorsement of the European ally.
In the text, Trump reaffirms his “complete and total support” for Orbán and once again praises the conduct of the Hungarian government, in addition to highlighting the strengthening of bilateral relations during his government. The Republican also mentions that he had already supported the prime minister in 2022 and declares that he is “honored” to do so again.
The new post does not bring any changes in content compared to the previous one and reinforces the political alignment between the two leaders on the eve of the elections in Hungary. Orbán, who has governed the country since 2010, is seeking reappointment amid a more competitive electoral scenario and greater international attention on his government.
