Who wants to miss a good Casa Pia-Arouca, on a Monday night, or a Ghana-Panama for the 2026 World Cup? Executive members do not. Where can you see it? In São Bento (and on Sport TV).
The news that the Government made a contract worth 20 thousand euros to have Sport TV in São Bento until August 2028 was advanced, this Monday, by .
In addition to the Prime Minister’s official residence, the contract guarantees access to the sports channel also in the Legislative Assembly.
The General Secretariat of the Government entered into a direct agreement with a telecommunications operator on December 23, guaranteeing subscription premium until August 19, 2028.
As the morning newspaper details, Sport TV is then available at seven points in the Palacete de São Bento and one in the Parliament.
Doing the math (just as an example, taking as a reference the dates revealed by Correio da Manhã), following the prices (without predicting variations) available on the operators’ websites , and , and considering the most expensive package (35 euros) for individuals, we see that from December 2025 to August 2028 (33 months), it would give an invoice for 1155 euros per television.
Multiplying by the existing eight points, it would give 9240 euros.
On the other hand, loyalty for a year would save four euros per month.
However, MEO and NOS present another package (which, here, could make more sense), all-inclusive, but for companies, at 90 euros per month.
Multiplying by 33 months would give 2970 euros. It could now be multiplied by eight points (which would give a total of almost 24 thousand euros), but, as MEO describes, this package already provides for the service “simultaneously on all MEOBox and on the tablet, smartphone or PC, indoors and outdoors.” Here again, annual loyalty would save you ten dollars a month.
Dropping the example and focusing on the contract premium real, Correio da Manhã details that, in 2025, the service involved an expense of 1170 euros; and, in 2026 and 2027, it will involve charges of 7023 euros.
As confirmed in the consultation of the agreement in , adding VAT of 23%, in total, will be spent 19,899.52 euros for 1035 days.
