The Government signed a contract worth around 20,000 euros to guarantee subscription premium of SportTV at the Prime Minister’s official residence, in São Bento, and at the Assembly of the Republic, valid until August 2028. The agreement was made by direct agreement and involves the telecommunications operator NOS.
The contract, signed through the General Secretariat of Government, guarantees access to the sports channel for three years, allowing the transmission of paid content at various points in the official residence and in a space in Parliament.
Contract until 2028
According to Correio da Manhã, the direct agreement was formalized on December 23 of last year and ensures subscription by August 19, 2028. According to the same source, the channel is available at seven points in the official residence of São Bento, while in the Assembly of the Republic it can only be seen in a specific location.
The overall value of the contract is 19,899.52 euros over three years, to which VAT is added at a rate of 23%. The newspaper writes that “VAT is added to the values indicated”, as stipulated in the contract available for consultation on the Base Portal.
The publication adds that, in 2025, the expense with SportTV was 1,170.56 euros, but the charges increase significantly in the following years.
The evolution of the invoice
In 2026, the expected cost is R$7,023.36, a value that will be maintained in 2027. In the last year of the contract, the expense will be R$4,682.24, says the same source. It is worth noting that these values only relate to the contracted service, and the value added tax is added to the indicated values.
The basis for resorting to direct award is expressed in the contract. According to the newspaper, the justification presented is the “absence of own resources”. The procedure was conducted by the General Secretariat of the Government with the operator NOS, guaranteeing the sports channel’s premium package.
Where can it be seen
At the Prime Minister’s official residence, access to SportTV is distributed across seven different points. In Parliament, transmission is limited to a single space. According to , this contract guarantees that policymakers will be able to follow the sports channel’s broadcasts in their workplaces until August 2028.
