Iran and IAEA meet in Geneva ahead of new round of talks with US

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, met with the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, in Geneva, this Monday, 16th, before the second round of negotiations with the United States on Tehran’s nuclear program.

“I am in Geneva with concrete ideas to reach a fair and equitable agreement,” wrote Araghchi on the social network X. “What is not up for discussion: submission in the face of threats.”

On Sunday, in an interview with the television network BBCthe deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, indicated that Iran accepts negotiating the nuclear issue under the condition that there is a reduction in international sanctions led by the United States. “We are ready to discuss this and other issues related to our program, as long as they are also willing to talk about sanctions,” he said.
