The fire, which originated in a storage room, also left four injured

Five people have died and four have been injured in a fire in a five-story apartment block in the Barcelona municipality of Manlleu. The Generalitat firefighters have moved to the area after receiving a notice at 9:10 p.m. this Monday. The fire originated in a storage room of the building, located on the roof, which was being used as a home.
At the moment, they are unknown, according to a statement from the Generalitat Fire Department. At least four of the victims were inside the house where the fire occurred and could not leave for reasons yet to be clarified. The injuries are all minor and none of them were hospitalized.
Up to 13 fire crews have traveled to Montseny street in the municipality after several neighbors called 112 alerting them to the fire on one of the upper floors and the presence of smoke in the staircase of the building. The fire was extinguished at 9:41 p.m. The Mossos d’Esquadra Investigation Unit has taken charge of clarifying the causes of the incident.
