Slovak extenist Dominika Cibulková (36) had several relationships before her wedding with Michal Navar, which attracted the attention of the media and fans. Her partners mainly included tennis players from different corners of Europe, about whom she spoke in her autobiography. He quotes from it. At the beginning of her professional career, she was associated with the French tennis player Gaël Monfils (39), with whom she was seen together at tournaments and off the court around 2008 to 2009.
Later, she fell head over heels in love with a native of Vienna, Jürgen Melzer (44). However, the relationship with the Austrian tennis player ended ingloriously, and harsher words were also addressed to him in the book. “To this day, I consider it my biggest mistake,” wrote Cibulková, who was heartbroken after the breakup. “I don’t respect him, he’s a hypocrite. He never had the balls to tell me the truth to my face.” added the former world number four when he told her plainly and for no reason after the tournament in Miami that he no longer wanted to be with her. But later she found out why.
“We flew home and here I learned that when Jürgen was with me, at the same time, he dated a Serbian swimmer for at least two months. The reputation of an incorrigible womanizer is still with him to this day.” she declared in the book. Melzer’s wedding bells rang in 2012 and he walked down the aisle together with Czech tennis player Iveta Benešová. But their marriage lasted only three years.
Cibulková was married to her manager Michal Navara for almost 10 years. They had been a couple for seven years before the wedding, which took place in 2016. Everything looked like a fairy tale. The couple had a son Jakubko in 2020 and a daughter Ninka three years later. At the end of January 2026, Dominika confirmed on the social network that she and Michal were divorcing. In the marquee session, the tennis player talked about how they get along now.
They especially consider their children. “It’s also very important for our children and just for all of us to deal with it and just move on,” declared Cibulková, who expresses herself only bluntly about the whole situation. Subsequently, she confirmed the divorce in front of the camera. “Yes, it is true, yes,” she stated.
The former tennis player revealed what her current relationship with Navarre is like. “With Michal, our children are absolutely the most important thing to us. And that’s the most important thing. That the children don’t just suffer because their parents get divorced, but they suffer because of how they treat each other and what the children witness. So, I think that Michal and I are absolutely responsible for this.” she said carefully.
Children are already aware of some things. “And our children, because Ninka will be almost three years old, Kubko is five and a half, of course they already perceive some things, they don’t. But I think we do it very sensitively and we try to put them first and above all we want to protect them. At this moment, we are doing what we can to handle the situation as responsibly as possible towards our children,” she concluded.
