Ukrainian drones hit an oil terminal in the port of Taman in Russia’s Krasnodar region and a chemical plant in the Perm region in a nighttime attack. On Tuesday, referring to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Reuters reported this.
Ukrainian units according to a source from the SBU carried out the second attack on the Tamanneftegaz terminal in the Krasnodar region in recent weeks. The first of them was carried out on the night of January 22. On Sunday, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces also reported the strike on the device, which is one of the largest of its kind in the Black Sea region.
SBU drones also attacked the Metafrax Chemicals plant in the Perm region of the Urals, about 1,600 kilometers from the border with Ukraine, on Tuesday night. The agency said that it is one of the largest methanol producers in Russia. According to a Reuters source, the plant produces chemical components used in explosives and other military materials.
“The SBU continues to systematically attack enterprises that supply the Russian military-industrial complex with raw materials and components for the production of weapons. Attacks on such facilities slow down the production of ammunition, complicate the supply of resources for the military and directly contribute to the reduction of the intensity of fighting against Ukraine.” the SBU representative was quoted by the RBC-Ukraine agency.
Both strikes were carried out by Ukrainian forces before the start of trilateral negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine, Russia and the United States in Geneva about the possibilities of ending the war. According to Reuters, Kiev has intensified its attacks on strategic targets in Russia, especially oil facilities.
