Vienna – The President of the Austrian Officers’ Society, Erich Cibulka, is skeptical about a referendum on compulsory military service. If an all-party decision is made in parliament to implement the “8 plus 2” model recommended by the Military Service Commission, which is also supported by all experts, “then the consensus should be large enough and there will no longer be a need for a referendum,” said Cibulka on Tuesday evening in the ZiB 2.
