United States President Donald Trump said Wednesday that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is making a big mistake by signing a lease for the US and UK air base in Diego Garcia.
“Prime Minister Starmer is losing control of this important island because of claims by never-before-known entities,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
Trump also said it may be necessary for the US to use Diego Garcia and an airfield located in Fairford to “eradicate a possible attack” from Iran if Tehran decides not to make a deal to resolve their long-running nuclear dispute.
