British couple sentenced to 10 years in prison for spying in Iran

Iran offers full cooperation to Venezuela against US "piracy and international terrorism"

Lindsay and Craig Foreman were taking a motorcycle trip around the world when they were detained in the center of the Iranian Islamic Republic, having always denied the accusations of espionage. The UK Foreign Secretary says the case is “absolutely revolting”.

A British biker couple, detained since January 2025, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for espionage in Iran, in a summary trial, their son, Joe Bennett, said this Thursday in a statement.

Lindsay and Craig Foreman, both 52 years old, were taking a motorcycle trip around the world when they were detained in the center of the Iranian Islamic Republic, having always denied the accusations of espionage against them by Tehran authorities.

“My parents were sentenced to 10 years in prison after a trial that lasted just three hours and during which they were not allowed to present their own defense,” the son wrote, expressing deep concern on the part of the couple’s entire family.

UK promises the couple will get back together

However, the United Kingdom’s Foreign Minister, Yvette Cooper, has already classified the process and the sentence as something “absolutely revolting and absolutely unjustifiable”.

“We will monitor the case, non-stop, with the Iranian government until Craig and Lindsay Foreman are brought back, safe and sound, to the United Kingdom and can be with their family,” he declared, also in a statement.
