Resources will allow investments in the aluminum factory and bauxite loading yard of Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio
The (National Bank for Economic and Social Development) informed, this Thursday (19.Feb.2026), that it approved financing for R$715.9 million for the (Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio) to invest in aluminum production in São Paulo and Goiás.
The company will allocate the amount to the aluminum production process for a new bauxite loading yard in Santa Isabel (GO).
According to BNDES, among the areas that will receive the grant are the revitalization of electrolytic furnaces – responsible for the transformation of aluminum oxide into liquid aluminum –, to mitigate operational risks linked to the wear of structures.
Also in the advancement of the dry waste disposal system, reuse of water in the recovery of caustic soda and in the input room to increase production capacity and improve quality.
With resources from the Finem line, CBA will invest in the reuse of inputs and natural resources, ensuring production stability, modernizing equipment, in addition to improving the production capacity of intermediate products.
Also included are the modernization of the closed water circuit, such as the industrial water treatment plant, the logistical infrastructure for the transport of bauxite and the consequent carbon emissions along this route.
The estimated initiatives are being carried out mainly in a factory in the municipality of Alumínio (SP). Logistical improvements for bauxite loading are being carried out at the raw material reception terminal, in Santa Isabel (GO).
According to the president of BNDES, the resource is aligned with the decarbonization policy that the group has chosen to support.
“The project brings together a series of initiatives that seek to increase productivity with the introduction of cleaner and more efficient technology, in addition to the reuse of water and a new logistics solution that will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions”stated the president of BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante.
