National leaders of the party remember that the party elected its largest parliamentary groups in which it released its state directories to support the presidential candidates they wanted.

In 1998, the MDB was officially neutral in the presidential race and won 83 seats in the Chamber. The same occurred in 2006, when there were 89. In comparison, there were 42 deputies elected in 2022.
According to the party leadership, today concentrated in the North and Northeast. In the others, the bias is in support of Flávio, or even a third way. No one would have the strength to impose a majority in a convention for one side.
Last Thursday (19), the scenario of support for Lula became more distant, with the strengthening of the MDB, than in the (PSD) ticket for the state government. The local directory is closest to Flávio.
