An explosion near a Moscow train station claimed two lives, including a police officer and an attacker who, according to authorities, detonated an explosive device. The Russian Ministry of the Interior also reports injuries.

An explosion on Tuesday night near a train station in Moscow claimed at least two lives. A policeman and a man who, according to the local authorities, detonated the explosive device, lost their lives. Two other police officers were injured, the Russian Interior Ministry said. The attacker approached the traffic policemen sitting in the vehicle and then an explosion occurred, the ministry said in a statement. The incident occurred at approximately 0.05 a.m. local time on the square in front of the railway station.
