Canada has summoned top representatives from ChatGPT developer OpenAI after a school shooting. The Minister for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Evan Solomon, said on Monday that the company had not passed on internal concerns about the subsequent perpetrator. He summoned senior employees of OpenAI’s security department from the USA to Ottawa. At the meeting, the company should explain its security policies. When asked how the government plans to protect Canadians from dangers online, Solomon remained tight-lipped. “All options are on the table,” he simply said.
