The Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences at USP (University of São Paulo) offers 60 places for the extension course “Astronomy: an overview”which will take place between April and June 2026. Registration is open until March 15th.
Classes are aimed at science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, geography or biology, and undergraduate students in the same areas.
Those enrolled will learn about apparent movement of the year and seasons; lunar phases, eclipses and tides; solar system; stars, among other content.
It is worth highlighting that the classes will be in person, on Saturdays, from 9am to 5:15pm. Check the dates: 11/04, 25/04, 09/05, 23/05, 13/06 and 20/06.
Registration
To participate, you must register and pay a fee. registration fee of R$200. However, the course offers six free places for candidates who request and present a per capita family income of up to three minimum wages.
