Two women were detained in pre-trial detention after being intercepted passing 41,800 kilos of cocaine to another man, in Setúbal. The images were shared by the National Directorate of the Public Security Police (PSP).
The arrests of this trio were possible following an investigation during which it was possible to “collect relevant information that allowed police action to be triggered, which culminated in the interception of two suspects after they had collected a bag of luggage at Lisbon Airport.”
“The police intervention occurred at a time when they were preparing to deliver the narcotic product to a male suspect, who was also intercepted and detained during the operation”, the note reads.
The three suspects were present for the first judicial interrogation and, in addition to the preventive measure for the two women, a less serious measure of coercion was also applied to the man. He was subject to three-weekly presentations at the police station in his area of residence.
