Paris – The French government survived another no-confidence vote in parliament on Wednesday. The trigger was the decision to pass a new energy law by decree and without a vote in the National Assembly. The first motion, put forward by the right-wing extremist Rassemblement National (RN), received 140 votes. 289 votes would have been necessary to overthrow the government.
