Considered as the preferred name to run for the Senate, the vice-mayor of São Paulo, says he will have fun in Congress and will have as his banner defending amnesty for prisoners involved in the attacks on January 8, 2023 and for the former president himself.
“If this mission comes up, I’m going to do the same thing I did at Ceagesp, putting an end to all the bullshit. At São Paulo City Hall, if there’s something wrong, let’s go for it. And in the Senate I’m going to have fun, because, unfortunately, there are a lot of things wrong in Brazil”, says the mayor’s deputy (MDB).
“It’s an important position that can change the history of our country.”
Bolsonaro’s choice for the vice-mayor of SP, Mello Araújo, for the Senate of SP, frustrated other names in the PL who dreamed of the vacancy.
The right now must have three competitors for two vacancies, two of whom are Rota graduates — the other is (PP). In addition to them, (Novo) promises to compete.
Araújo, however, says he did not talk to Bolsonaro, much less his children, to discuss the candidacy.
“I will only leave the position I am in if the president [Bolsonaro] need me in another, in the service of putting the house in order. Wherever there is bullshit, we fix it”, added the deputy.
