Trump administration withholds millions of dollars in Medicaid payments to Minnesota

Washington – The US government under President Donald Trump has stopped Medicaid payments worth $259 million to the state of Minnesota. Vice President JD Vance and Dr. Mehmet Oz justified the move on Wednesday with a lack of fraud prevention by the state government. “We are stopping federal payments to the state government until the state government takes its obligations seriously,” Vance said at a joint news conference. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who ran as the Democratic vice presidential candidate last year, rejected the allegations and spoke of a retaliatory campaign against Democratic-governed states.
