Man killed woman in shopping mall for not accepting breakup that happened 9 months ago

The femicide of Cibele Monteiro Alvesaged 22, committed by Cássio Henrique da Silva Zampieri, aged 25, would have been motivated by the suspect’s non-compliance with the end of relationshipwhich took place about nine months ago, in April 2025.

Cibele was stabbed to death on Wednesday night (25), while working at a Vivara store in Golden Square Shopping, in São Bernardo do Campo, in ABC Paulista.

According to the incident report to which the CNN Brazil had access, the investigations indicate that Cássio did not accept the end of the relationship and demonstrated that he was unhappy with the situation.

For this reason, the victim had already registered three police reports against him and obtained one, which prohibited him from maintaining contact.

Attack inside the mall

At the scene, the man surrendered his ex-partner and his wife.

According to police records, he entered the jewelry store armed with a knife and an airsoft gun. Military and Civil police teams were called and found the attacker holding the victim under threat.

According to the Public Security Secretariat, there was an attempt to negotiate, but the suspect allegedly pointed the gun at the police. Faced with the threat, the agents intervened and shot him.

A video records it being driven by a plainclothes police officer. In the images, the agent appears with the gun in hand, making gestures for the suspect to surrender, but to no avail.

No police officers were injured. The victim and the attacker were rescued in serious condition by rescue teams and Samu. Later, Cibele’s death was confirmed.

The suspect, struck by a gunshot, was taken into custody at the Mário Covas State Hospital.
