It left City Hall employees under expectations.
Nunes himself is enthusiastic about the candidacy, and
“He will be a good senator,” the mayor wrote to the Panel.
To contest the election, the vice-mayor must resign from the position by April.
As the Panel published this Wednesday (25), Araújo is (PL)’s preferred name to run for the Senate. Chosen by the former president to be Nunes’ vice-president, Araújo has said that it is up to Bolsonaro to define his destiny.
“If this mission appears, I will do the same as I did at Ceagesp, putting an end to all the nonsense. At São Paulo City Hall, if something is wrong, we will go after it,” Araújo told the Panel this Wednesday.
“And in the Senate I’m going to have fun, because, unfortunately, there are a lot of things wrong in Brazil.”
The deputy, however, deals with competition from other PL names, such as federal deputies Marcos Feliciano, Mário Frias and Rosana Valle and state deputy Gil Diniz.
