Renato evaluates Neymar’s trip to the World Cup: “It will take 20 or 30 minutes”

Will Neymar go to the World Cup or not? With just over 100 days to go before the World Cup, this is one of the biggest doubts in Brazilian football. Although Carlo Ancelotti has already said that he will not call up players who are not physically fit – and, this season, the striker has only played three games -, the discussion is still ongoing.

In an interview with Romário, Renato Gaúcho gave his opinion on the situation. The coach, currently without a club, says he would “blindly” call up number 10 if he had the opportunity.

“Brazil has the conditions to be champion [Com Neymar]. We have to know how to separate. I heard some interviews, including Ancelotti, and some journalists. ‘Ah, Neymar has to go to the World Cup if he’s 100%’. It’s my opinion: I disagree. Why? When you have a star like Neymar, he may not be 100% like the other players, but you have the ability of a player like him… It takes 20 or 30 minutes”, he pointed out.

“[Mesmo] If he is not injured, 100% physically, he would take it. In 20, 30 minutes. He doesn’t have the same physical condition as his opponent, but the opponent will be tired. When he enters, he will be at the same level. It’s a thought I have. I would take Neymar, blindly, to the World Cup.”

Neymar talks about the World Cup

Indirectly, Neymar for the World Cup in Santos’ 2-1 victory over Vasco.

“Last week, they said I was the worst player in the world. I think I played better last game [contra o Novorizontino]. Football is like that, one day you are retired, the next you have to go to the World Cup. I’m taking it one day at a time, I’m working, getting in the best shape possible. My second 90-minute game of the year. I’m working and striving to deliver the best possible”, he said, as he left the field.

The next FIFA Date is scheduled for the end of March. The team will face France on the 26th and Croatia on the 31st.
