Civil Defense issued a warning for heavy rain in the early hours of this Friday (27)
A strong storm hit Paratyin Rio de Janeiro, on Thursday (26) and left the flooded city. Videos show residents being carried away by the strong current of water accumulated in the city’s streets.
In a recording, residents of the Concado neighborhood hold on to ropes attached to the structures of their houses.

The city was flooded. In a video, it is possible to see part of the properties covered by water.
According to the Rio de Janeiro Fire Department, in Paraty, 162 mm of rain was recorded in the last 24 hours. In addition to flooding, there were landslides in the city. Some residents of the Pantanal, Ponte Branca, Condado, Jabaquara, Ilha das Cobras, Jacu, Corisco, Coriscão, Canto Verde and Mangueira neighborhoods are evicted.
The Civil Defense of the State of Rio de Janeiro issued warns of intense rain with lightning in the city, in the early hours of this Friday (27). The guidance is that the population avoid risk areas. People who need shelter should look for Escola Municipal Pequenina Calixto, defined as an official support point. In emergency situations, the available telephone numbers are 199 (Civil Defense) and 193 (Fire Department).
