The 20-year-old girl left Sorocaba accompanied by her father and boyfriend, to sell a drone to a supposed buyer. When they arrived at the agreed location, they were surprised by criminals who announced the robbery. Beatriz reacted and used pepper gas, but was shot in the head and died at the scene.
According to the Public Security Secretariat of the State of São Paulo (SSP-SP), One of those arrested this Thursday (26) is identified as an organizer and mentor of the crimeand. According to investigations, the 26-year-old suspect was responsible for maintaining contact with the victim, showing interest in the drone and scheduling the meeting to deliver the product.
The other detainee, who had no direct participation in the robbery, according to the SSP-SP, is investigated for involvement with the same gang. In addition to them, two other men had already been arrested last year – they are identified as the shooter and the motorcyclist who was driving the motorcycle used in the crime.
O The first person involved was arrested two days after the crime and had three previous convictions for robbery. The second suspect fled to Bahia, was identified during the investigation and arrested in the state on November 18th.
As isuspects’ identities were not disclosed and, therefore, it was not possible to locate the defenses.
This Thursday’s arrests were carried out by teams from the 8th Siege, the Specialized Center for the Repression of Crimes and Various Occurrences.
According to delegate Guilherme Leonel, from 8ª Cerco, the gang adopted a scheme to attract victims to previously defined locations, under the pretext of negotiating products advertised on the internet.
He stated that, with the arrests, the investigation into Beatriz Munhoz’s death was concluded. “We continue to investigate the possible involvement of the detainees in other robberies reported in the region,” he added.
During the operation, three cell phones were seized and will be subjected to forensic examination. The case was registered as robbery and criminal association.
