Judge Bruno Paes Straforini, from the 1st Civil Court of Barueri, requested the removal of the process that led to the auction of a mansion owned by former player Cafu, in October 2024.
The property, auctioned to pay debts, was sold in October 2024 for R$20 million, but the deal is being sought.
The former Brazilian national team defender filed a lawsuit with the (Superior Court of Justice), as revealed by the Panel in December 2025, saying that he was harmed by the magistrate, who chose Denys Pyerre de Oliveira as the auctioneer of the house, located in a gated community in Alphaville (SP).
According to Cafu’s lawyers, the judge purchased a Volvo utility vehicle from the auctioneer in July 2021, and another vehicle of the same brand in February 2025. The values were not disclosed.
In the request for removal, the former player’s defense listed the fact that the judge had named Oliveira in at least 52 cases and had kept the auctioneer in Cafu’s case even after the parties agreed to the appointment of another professional, who would receive a less onerous commission.
“These petitioners became aware of recently published journalistic articles which confirmed the personal relationship between this Magistrate and the auctioneer always appointed by Your Excellency, Denys Pyerre”, wrote Cafu’s defense, in reference to the report published in the Panel.
The Panel did not locate the judge until the publication of this note.
In December, Straforini had said that the two vehicles “were acquired with a long interval of time through regularly signed contracts and upon due payment of the amounts owed, as evidenced by the relevant bank documentation, and there was no illegality or shady negotiation in the case”.
The judge also said that he had been the target of an “opportunistic and orchestrated defamatory campaign, promoted by competitors and parties who, unhappy with the loss of assets in legitimate legal proceedings, seek to tarnish their reputation.”
