The president of , decided to close the voting session last Wednesday (18) due to lack of votes to approve the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) related to the fiscal adjustment package. Voting on the PEC and the corresponding bill is scheduled for this Thursday (19) and is expected to start at 10am. For a PEC to be approved, the support of three-fifths of the deputies is required, which is equivalent to 308 votes in two rounds. In order to increase the quorum in the House, registration of attendance in the plenary will begin at 6 am tomorrow. In addition, remote voting will be permitted, facilitating the participation of deputies. The government leader in the Chamber, José Guimarães, expressed confidence that there will be adequate time for the Senate to analyze the proposals. Guimarães also highlighted that he believes that the votes necessary for the approval of the PEC and the bill will be available in tomorrow’s session.
