Pedro faz quatro e Flamengo atropela Madureira na semifinal do Carioca

He authoritatively confirmed his place in the 2026 final by beating Madureira in the second leg of the semi-final, played this Monday (2/3), at Maracanã. With a dominant performance and taking advantage of the large advantage gained in the first leg (3 x 0), Rubro-Negro increased the aggregate score to 11 x 0 and stamped their passport for the decision against Fluminense. Pedro was the highlight of the night with four goals.

In addition to the number 9, Paquetá scored two, Jean Vianna scored against and Samuel Lino completed the rout.

Mengão entered the field with several players spared, such as Arrascaeta, Léo Pereira, Pulgar, Jorginho and Bruno Henrique, due to recent wear and tear and the defeat in the Recopa Sul-Americana final. Seeing the pressure from the fans, even so, the team led by Filipe Luís did not give the opponent a chance and showed technical and physical superiority from the opening whistle.

Lucas Paquetá was one of the names of the night, scoring twice and commanding the Rubro-Negro attack. The first goal came four minutes into the first half, with a beautiful header after a precise cross, opening the scoring. Paquetá expanded in the 22nd minute with a well-placed shot, making it 2 x 0 in the return duel.

Madureira, who needed a heroic reaction to reverse the 3-0 lead, did little to threaten and saw Flamengo control the game with ease. And what was difficult, became even worse after an own goal by defender Jean Vianna, who tried to cut and ended up increasing the score for Rubro-Negro in an unfortunate move.

In first-half stoppage time, the goal came from Pedro’s feet. Alex Sandro advanced and crossed the ball for Flamengo’s number 9 to start his show.

The second half continued frantically. Pedro made two in a few minutes. With two plays Vitão passed to Royal inside the area and Pedro completed the goal, after two minutes. The other came shortly after the ball was released, Evertton Araújo counterattacked, and possession went to Pedro, who was accurate for the goal.

The fourth came at 21. Emerson Royal passed to number 9, who dominated with freedom to score another. Samuel Lino was not left out. The athlete led the way into the area and finished in the corner at 42 minutes into the second half, sealing the victory.

Now the team faces Fluminense on Sunday (8/3), in a single game at Maracanã.
