If it is confirmed that someone has abused the uniform, their authority or the trust of the state, they must bear full responsibility, regardless of their position. He stated this on the social network in connection with Tuesday’s detention of active and former police officers, as well as the prosecutor of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Slovak Republic Minister of the Interior Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Voice-SD).
“Today, I was informed by the Office of the Inspection Service about a police action called Kajúcnik. According to the available information, these are serious suspicions, in which persons from the police and civilian environment were accused and detained,” said the minister. As he added, law and justice must apply to everyone without exception and equally. It is the principle on which a trustworthy and just state must stand.
On Tuesday, the Office of the Inspection Service carried out a police operation called Kajúcnik. During it, police officers and civilians were accused and detained. Veritas Specialist Team Investigator accused four current and two former police officers and one civilian from extortion and abuse of the authority of a public official, which they should have committed in an organized manner. In addition to the accused, two suspects were also detained.
Detention of police officers from the former National Crime Agency Pavle Ďurek, Branislav Dunček, Alžbeta Farkašová and the prosecutor of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Slovak Republic Michal Šurek, attorney Peter Kubina confirmed for TASR.
