According to O Globo, the aircraft was used for ten days, with trips to at least nine states and the Federal District, in a caravan led by federal deputy and pastor Guilherme Batista
The federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) used a jet belonging to businessman Daniel Vorcaroowner of Banco Master, to campaign for former president Jair Bolsonaro during the second round of the 2022 elections. The information was released by the newspaper O Globo this Tuesday (3).
According to the report, the aircraft was used over ten days, traveling to at least nine states and the Federal District. The trips were part of the “Youth for Brazil” caravan, led by Nikolas and pastor Guilherme Batista.
The initiative aimed to seek votes in regions where the thenhad obtained a majority in the first round, in an attempt to reverse the result in the final stretch of the dispute.
According to the newspaper, the displacements were confirmed from the analysis of signals emitted by the aircraft transpondermonitored by specific tools available online. The browsing history coincides with the dates and cities visited during “Juventude pelo Brasil” and with other pro-Bolsonaro campaign events, including agendas that were attended by the then president.
Not paper, Prime You is the official owner of this and other aircraft linked to Daniel Vorcaro. The company also owns other assets used by the banker, such as his mansion in Brasília. In October 2022, Vorcaro was still one of the company’s owners, alongside Maurício Quadrado, according to the newspaper.
Sought by the newspaper O Globo, Nikolas Ferreira confirmed that he made the trips on board of an Embraer 505 Phenom 300, but stated that he was unaware that the aircraft belonged to businessman Daniel Vorcaro. The deputy also said that he traveled at the invitation of pastor Guilherme Batista, who did not participate in the logistics of the caravan and that he himself did not seek information about who financed the flights.
As the commitments were not part of Jair Bolsonaro’s official campaign agenda, the use of the aircraft did not need to be declared to the Superior Electoral Court.
“At the time, I had no knowledge of who owned the plane. My presence on the flight was solely due to the invitation to the campaign agenda, without any personal, commercial or institutional link with the owner of the aircraft, who later became known to be Daniel Vocaro. I never shook hands with VorcaroI’ve never been with him and I don’t have any kind of business with him or the Master”, he declared to the O Globo blog team.
To the newspaper, the Daniel Vorcaro’s defense stated that the aircraft “does not belong to the banker”although he was, at the time, one of the partners of the company Prime You, formal owner of the jet.
Wanted by the news report Young Panpastor Guilherme Batista did not take a position on the case. The space remains open.
Prime You informed, in a note, that the routes mentioned correspond to “chartered flights in the traditional format of an air taxi operation in the market”. When the newspaper questioned whether the plane was rented or borrowed, and who requested the aircraft and who covered the costs, the company stated that it could not disclose this information due to the General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
