One of the seven PSP agents arrested this week, for crimes of torture, rape, aggression and abuse of power at the Rato Police Station, had undergone plastic surgery. The investigation admits that the objective was not to be recognized by victims.
As , this Wednesday, following the investigation into crimes of serious torture, rape, assault and abuse of power at the Rato Police Station, in Lisbon.
In a statement, the Public Ministry (MP) and the PSP announced that “the possible committing various crimes, namely, serious torture, rape, abuse of power, qualified physical harm”.
According to him, this Thursday, with the news that one of the seven detainees made a facial plastic surgery, after the alleged crimes.
The same newspaper found, from a source linked to the investigation, that the objective may have been make it difficult for victims to identify the agent.
There was knowledge of the surgical intervention at the first investigation related to the case and that led to the arrest of two other agents on suspicion of violence at that police station, in July last year.
In January, the news reported that one of the two police officers arrested in July had tried to cancel “online recognitions” (where a suspect is placed side by side with other people) in which he was identified by the victims.
One of the reported cases of abuse is that of a Moroccan citizen who allegedly been sodomized with a stick by one of the defendants and beaten and then .
Many of these abuses were filmed and shared in WhatsApp groups with dozens of other agents.
