Red threads worn on the hand have an important symbolic meaning. For Buddhists and Hindus, they mean blessing, however ancient Slavs called them nauz and plaited them on their hands as amulets to protect them from evil spells or diseases.
Ancestors also believed that their color was intense not only it acts as a “shield”, reflecting bad luck, but above all (especially in interpersonal relationships).
Choosing where to tie the red thread is crucial. According to tradition, it should be placed on the left wrist, because this side of the body is considered to “receive” energyand the thread as a talisman blocks access of what is evil to the heart.
However, if you prefer to act discreetly so that no one sees that you believe in “superstitions”, you do not have to have a red thread on your body. You can also attach it to your keys or purse to keep an eye on your personal space and material possessions.
If you want the red thread to become more than just a decoration, you need to give it power by performing a simple ritual. Don’t ask to tie it on the wrist of a man who wishes you ill.
Ask for help from a trusted person who has sincere sympathy for you, whom you trust and know who wishes you well. While tying it, make seven knots on the red thread, because this number symbolizes completeness and spiritual perfection.
Then focus on your intention to protect yourself and cut yourself off from what is negative. Remember that each weave is like your personal shield, which is supposed to return what is unnecessary to where it came from, taking care of yours.
