As it turns out, cod is different from cod and is not always an Atlantic fish. It has many subspecies or related species, however in Polish stores we can most often find Atlantic or Baltic cod. It turns out that it is not the same fish at all.
Baltic cod is a subspecies of Atlantic cod. He is being fished out only in the Baltic Seaunlike the Atlantic variety, which is caught in the North and Barents Seas. The fishing spot makes it what also distinguishes them is the quality of the meat.
Atlantic cod meat is much richer in valuable ingredients nutrients, vitamins and minerals from Baltic cod meat. It is both more elastic and more of it. This makes it up to twice as expensive as the Baltic subspecies.

Whenever I see that cod is on sale in Lidl, I necessarily run to buy it. I make it for dinner in dill sauce and the whole family is delighted. You don’t need much, and the taste is amazing.
Ingredients:
- 500 g Atlantic cod
- 250 ml of cream 18%
- 1 tablespoon of wheat flour
- 60 ml of water
- 1/2 lemon
- fresh dill
- salt and pepper to taste.
Cut the cod fillet into smaller pieces, sprinkle them with salt and pepper and rub. Additionally, you can fish sprinkle with juice from half a lemon. Now set it aside for an hour.
After this time, put the cod into an ovenproof dish. In a separate vessel mix cream, water, chopped dill and flour. Season the sauce with salt and pepper if necessary.
Fish in a dish pour the prepared sauce over it dill cream. Put the whole thing in the oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius and bake for about 30-40 minutes. serve with potatoes and your favorite salad.
