US President Donald Trump said in an interview with CBS News on Monday, that the development of the war against Iran is progressing beyond expectations. According to him, the war is almost over, and the head of the White House indicated that many of the goals of the United States have already been met, informs TASR.
“I think the war is almost entirely over,” he said. “They don’t have a navy, they don’t have communications, they don’t have an air force. Their missiles are scattered. Their drones are blown up everywhere, including their factories. If you look, they have nothing left. Militarily, they have nothing left.” declared the American president. He also stated in a telephone interview that the United States had succeeded in achieving its military objectives much earlier than planned.
On February 28, the US and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran, which they described as a pre-emptive strike aimed at eliminating immediate threats to regional and global security, the main one being Tehran’s alleged pursuit of nuclear weapons. On the very first day of the operation, they killed Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Trump declared on Sunday, that he will decide the end of the war together with Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will participate in this decision, but according to his own words, the US president will have the final say.
