As soon as rockets hit the Middle East, prices at the gas pumps go crazy. This seems to be a law of nature. Every time the supply of oil is supposedly at risk, prices shoot up so quickly that it’s hard to keep up. The mineral oil companies reflexively explain this with higher crude oil prices. This justification hardly stands up to closer inspection.
