A Crossfox Amputee Football Cup will be held this Saturday (14)at the Clube União dos Operários, at 9am. Initiative that was born after a conversation between para-athlete Rogerinho, from Corinthians, and Paulo Durci, CEO of Crossfox, enters its second edition.
Durci already financially supports the player’s other social projects and is highly committed to the social merit of sport. In this year’s edition, eight teams participate, double the number of the last tournament. The event has free entry.
Corinthians (current champion), Portuguesa, Caieras, Minas, Pantanal, Benfica and Instituto Só Vida are the teams that will fight for cash prizes that can reach R$2,500. Check out the awards:
– 1st place: R$ 2500.00
– 2nd place: R$ 1500.00
– 3rd place: R$ 1000.00
– 4th place: R$750.00
– 5th place: R$ 500.00
In addition, the first four places received trophies. “Amputee football is much more than a game. It represents inclusion, overcoming and social transformation. The sport transforms lives”, says Durci.
“Sport has this role, of giving a purpose, a meaning to all of us, because life does not end after a traumatic event. It only asks for a reinvention of who we are”, he added.
