Genial/Quaest research reveals that billion-dollar scandal impacts the image of governments, STF and Central Bank, becoming a decisive factor for part of the population to vote
Genial/Quaest survey released this Thursday, 12th, shows that 38% of voters say they would avoid voting for candidates who are involved in the billion-dollar fraud scandal at Banco Master. For 29%, the topic will be one of those taken into consideration in the electronic ballot box and another 20% said that the topic will not be important. Another 13% did not know or did not respond.
Genial/Quaest interviewed 2,004 voters in person between the 6th and 9th of March. The margin of error is plus or minus two percentage points and the reliability rate is 95%.
The survey also questioned which sectors of the Public Power would be most negatively affected by the scandal and 40% responded that the governments of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the Judiciary, the Central Bank and the National Congress are equally harmed by the Master case.
Those who responded that the most affected are the STF and the Judiciary are 13%. Next come the Bolsonaro government (11%), the Lula government (10%), the Central Bank (5%) and the National Congress (3%). Another 1% said that no sector was affected and another 17% did not know, or did not want to respond.
