The Ukrainian state oil and gas company Naftohaz, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized a special briefing on Saturday, where they provided representatives of foreign diplomatic missions with comprehensive materials on attacks by Russian forces on the Druzhba pipeline infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by representatives of 31 states, including countries of the G7 group and European partners of Ukraine. Naftogaz chairman Serhiy Korecky announced this on his Facebook profile, TASR reports based on a report from the Ukrainska pravda website.
“We presented comprehensive materials on the nature of the attacks and their aftermath, including photos and videos from the scene. We also briefed the diplomats in detail about the challenges our colleagues are dealing with,” said Koreckyj. He emphasized that the restoration of such infrastructure is a complex technological process that requires time, specialized equipment and work in conditions of constant threats of repeated Russian attacks.
According to Korecký, Naftohaz, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, continues to inform foreign partners about the consequences of Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure and about the progress of reconstruction works. “Since the beginning of the invasion, Russia has carried out more than 400 attacks on Naftohaz group facilities. More than 30 attacks were recorded in 2026 alone,” stated Koreckyj.
From January 27, 2026, oil will not flow through the Družba pipeline to Hungary or Slovakia. According to Kyiv, the pipeline was damaged in a Russian attack, while Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico suspect Ukraine of political blackmail.
On March 11, a Hungarian delegation arrived in Ukraine to investigate the state of the Druzhba pipeline, headed by Gábor Czepek, the state secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Energy. However, according to Kyiv, this group does not have an official status because its visit was not coordinated diplomatically in advance. Czepek said on Saturday that Hungarian Ambassador Antal Heizer was also at the meeting organized by Naftohaz and that his delegation was returning to Budapest “with results”.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said on Saturday, according to the MTI agency, that the briefing for ambassadors “is another setback for the Ukrainians, another confirmation that the Ukrainians are keeping the Druzhba pipeline closed solely for political reasons, solely with the intention of interfering in the elections in Hungary”.
