The Secret Agent film location will have a free party with a red carpet, big screen and presentations and food stalls
Residents of Recife (PE) lined up this Saturday morning (14 March 2026) in front of Cinema São Luiz, location of the film ‘”, to watch the broadcast of the 98th Oscar ceremony. The film by Pernambuco filmmaker Kleber Mendonça Filho competes in four categories at the awards. The ceremony will be held at 8pm this Sunday (15th March).
The distribution of 500 free tickets was carried out in a festive atmosphere and included a frevo performance by WK Orquestra. The line wrapped around the block of Rua da Aurora, where the traditional cinema in the capital of Recife is located.
The structure for broadcast on Sunday (15 March) includes the transformation of Rua da Aurora into a large red carpet from 6:30 pm. A screen will be installed on the banks of the Capibaribe River for the exhibition open to the public. The external environment will feature food stalls and cultural presentations.
The objective is to promote a democratic meeting around cinema, inaugurated in 1952.

OSCAR NOMINATIONS
The awards ceremony will be held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, United States. The feature film “The Secret Agent” competes in 4 categories:
• best film;
• best international film;
• best actor (Wagner Moura);
• best cast.
The number of nominations equals the Brazilian record for “City of God” in 2004. Before reaching the Oscar race, the film had already won 2 awards at the 2026 Golden Globes.
